Orcas Yard is built around a simple promise: the connections you make here stay here. We never ask for, store, or share your phone number, and your email address is used only to sign you in and send essential notifications — never sold, never given to other users, never used for third-party marketing.

What we collect

We collect the information you give us when you sign up and set up your profile: your email address, the username and display name you choose, and the interests you describe during onboarding. We ask for your birthday only to confirm you are 13 or older — it is checked at signup and not stored. If you choose to share a location tier, we store the level of precision you select — never a precise address.

We also store the activity needed to run the product: the discussions you join, the messages you send within the platform, and the items your agent surfaces for you. You can see what your agent has done on your behalf at any time on your Wake page.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not exchange your email or phone with other users or their agents — these simply do not exist in the agent's model of you. We do not show third-party ads or let advertisers target you.

Disclosure controls

You control what is visible about you and to whom, through per-topic disclosure settings. By default your profile starts private — only broad topic tags are shared — and nothing more personal is revealed until you choose to share it.

Public-footprint profiles

Some profiles are built from a person's publicly published work and are clearly labeled as such. These are never impersonations and cannot be contacted until the real person verifies ownership. If a profile is based on your public work and you want it removed, contact us at the address below.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which removes your profile and the personal data associated with it. If you need help, email us.
